DREAMCATCHERS Instructors:
Evie DeRanieri - I have been entertaining the Houston community with Dance, since 1986, when I was a member of the Montrose Country Cloggers. I am a founding member of two Houston-based dance groups, DREAMCATCHERS and Southern Country Houston and was also a founding member of the Lone Star Lariats dance team. I have been assisting in teaching C&W couples dance lessons since 1992 and have been teaching line dancing (non-professionally) for about 35 years.
Currently, I dance on 2 exhibition dance teams. Additionally, I have competed in C&W couples competition as well as C&W team competition. I reside in Houston with my partner in life, Carol Martinez. Together we are very active teaching dance and performing for charitable events in the Houston community. I also assist Carol in choreographing competition dance routines and coaching couples for C&W competition. My hobbies include dancing, fishing, casinos, riding our Harley Davidson, and spending time with family and friends.
Peggy Lentz - My dance experience includes social and competition levels and spans over 12 years in the Houston dance community. I have been a member of multiple social and competitive dance teams (Southern Country Houston, LoneStar Lariats and the DREAMCATHCERS) as well as couples competitor. I have competed in multiple divisions of the IAGLCWDC couples circuit with my dance partner Waddle Pitman for multiple years. I have also competed in the Pro-Am divisions of the IAGLCWDC dance circuit with professional coaches Lynn Fergusen and Chad Guidry.
Currently I dance with the DREAMCATCHERS Dreamz Team performing at exhibitions and fund raisers across the community. My love for dancing is a driving force that keeps me continuing my dance education. I have been fortunate to be able to train with some very talented coaches across the U.S. and am currently training with Shelley James one of the top C&W and West Coast Swing coaches in the Houston area.
Shereé Levario - I have over ten years experience in the C&W and West Coast Swing dance circuits, socially and competitively, in both couples and team dancing. I have IAGLCWDC division over-all titles and Texas / International Gay Rodeo Dance Circuit titles with partner Olivia Esparza. Olivia and I were the first female dance couple in the IAGLCWDC circuit to qualify for the Championship Division. I also have an IAGLCWDC division over-all title with partner Todd Casler of the Lone Star Lariats. These days I am busy training and dancing Pro-Am (C&W and Swing) with my coach partner David Appel (U.S. Open Champion)in the UCWDC dance circuit.
I am a founding member of the DREAMCATCHERS dance club where I am an instructor, performance team coordinator, and choreographer for the exhibition dance team. My dance team experience includes both competition and exhibition with some of the finest teams in Houston. Currently I dance with the DREAMCATCHERS Dreamz Team exhibition dancers.
I have been fortunate to train with some amazing instructors and awesome partners. I am looking forward to achieving a few more dance goals that I have set my sights on and to continue to bring positivity and spread the love through dance and life.
Carol Martinez - I have been involved in dance in the Houston community since 1986. I was a member of The Montrose Country Cloggers and performed with the dance group at many events. I am one of the founding members of two dance groups in the Houston area, DREAMCATCHERS and Southern Country Houston as well as a founding member of the Lone Star Lariats dance team. I danced for four years on the Lone Star Lariats competition dance team and currently dance exhibition for both Southern Country Houston and the DREAMCATCHERS.
I instruct for the DREAMCATCHERS Dance Club as well as choreograph for the performance team. I have competed and won titles in couples, team, and line dance in the International Association of Gay and Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs circuit. I also have successfully competed in the Texas Gay Rodeo Association Dance Competition Circuit.
I have been teaching private dance lessons since 2005. My coaching experience includes couples and individuals who have successfully placed in their divisions at UCWDC, IAGLCWDC and TGRA dance competitions. I am a native Houstonian, where I reside with my partner in life, Evie DeRanieri, who shares my passion for dance. We love sharing our knowledge to help others to learn about and grow their love for dance as we do.
